Assistive Listening System
We are presently researching the modern Bluetooth technology called AURACAST that allows modern hearing aids with appropriate software to connect to a variation of Bluetooth called Bluetooth LE. This allows for bluetooth transmissions to more than two devices at the same time, such as for churches, theatres and meeting rooms like ours. Several people with hearing aids equipped with LE would be able to select the WELU channel for their earpieces using their usual hearing app on their phone.
At the moment, March 2025, adoption of this standard in Canada has been very slow and not many hearing aid sources have embraced this change in specifications as yet. We will monitor this situation, while in the meantime, we will consider returning to offering the headphone solution we once used.
